Biography

Although licensed as a financial consultant since 1993, Jon has been "in the business his whole life. Jon's dad, Marvin D. Massey, CLU started the practice in 1959, a few years before Jon was born. Being a financial consultant to business owners and families is in Jon's blood.

But before joining his dad at age 30, Jon was determined to gain wisdom from a variety of life experiences. Jon entered college as a creative writing major. As his social awareness grew he studied history with the idea of becoming a teacher. He earned a BA in History from Bard College and went on to earn a teaching certification from the University of Colorado.

However, at the time Jon graduated few teaching jobs were available. So Jon began his career as a marketer. He landed a position based in New York City as an account executive with Macmillan Publishing, selling a television show throughout Europe. Traveling for up to a month at a time, Jon had great success in places like Finland, Belgium, The Netherlands and even as far-flung as Turkey!

Married in 1993 to his brilliant and stunning wife,  Maria, Jon took the plunge and joined his dad in a thriving financial practice. He has never looked back. Now, as the president of The Massey Group, Jon considers it his life's mission to form lasting personal and business relationships with his clients, providing insight, experience and innovative strategies.
